　　连词 (Conjunctions)

　　—— 用来连接词与词或句与句

　　连词是一种虚词，不能独立担当句子成分，只起连接词与词，短语与短语，句与句的作用。

　　一、连词的分类(2类)

　　

　　二、并列连词

　　用来连接平行的词，词组或分句

　　and, but, or, so, for, both…and, not only…but also,

　　either…or, neither…nor, …,

　　My sister is expecting me, so I must be off now.

　　姐姐在等我，我得走了。

　　It must be snowing, for it is so bright outside.

　　一定在下雪，外面这样亮。

　　You may either stay here or go with us.

　　你待在这里也可以，跟我们去也可以。

　　She could neither speak the language nor write it.

　　这个语言她既不能说也不能写。

　　二、从属连词

　　又可分为两种：一种是引起(九类)状语从句的从属连词

　　另一种是引起主语、宾语、表语和同位语从句的从属连词

　　1.引起(九类)状语从句的从属连词

　　(1)时间状语从句：

　　when(当)， while(当，在…期间)after(在…后),

　　before(在…前)，since(自从)， until(直到)

　　as soon as(一…就…)

　　(2)地点状语从句：

　　where(地方，哪里)，wherever(无论何地，哪里)

　　(3)原因状语从句：

　　because(因为)， as(由于)， since(既然)

　　(4)目的状语从句：

　　in order that(为了)，so that(以便)，in case(以防)

　　(5)结果状语从句：

　　so that(结果)， so…that(如此…以致于…)，

　　such…that(这样…以致于)

　　(6)条件状语从句：

　　if(如果) ，unless(除非)， so(as) long as(只要)，

　　in case(万一)

　　(7)方式状语从句：

　　as(正如，按着)，as if(though)好像

　　(8)让步状语从句：

　　though(=although)(虽然，尽管)

　　even if(though)(即使)

　　whether(不管，无论)

　　(9)比较状语从句：

　　than(比)，as(一样，同样)

　　We had to put the meeting off since so many people were absent.

　　既然很多人没来，会只好延期。(原因)

　　We’d better take our raincoats in case it should rain.

　　我们最好把雨衣带着，以防下雨。(目的)

　　Send us a message in case you have any difficulty.

　　万一有什么困难，请给我们一个信。(条件)

　　She is as tall as he. 她同他一样高。(比较)

　　2.引起主语、宾语、表语和同位语从句的从属连词(有3个)

　　that(无词意，不用翻译)

　　whether(是否)

　　if(是否)

　　I had no idea that you were here.

　　我不知道你也在这儿。(同位语)

　　That we need more equipment is quite obvious.

　　我们需要更多的设备，这是很明显的。(主语从句)

　　I wonder if (whether) she has received our telegram.

　　我不知道她是否接到了我们的电报。(宾语从句)
